We learn by doing. A seminar gives you the time and space to reflect on the concepts we learned in the workshop, and to come back to a community to discuss and refine your ideas.

A seminar includes:

  • A structured worksheet for independent study, which should take 3-5 hours

  • Constructive and positive feedback

  • 1 hour seminar with a small group of like minded individuals to discuss key topics

"I enjoyed the independent study. When I tried to write down an argument, I realised what I had to learn to help my product team. The seminar clarified a lot of my questions and I'm looking forward to continuing."

"The seminar was full of vibrant conversation and flew by!"

  • By introducing foundational ideas about ethical systems and design, Alice unlocked a web of new thoughts in me about implementing ethics in my work as a strategist. It was a really insightful and intriguing session.

    Luke, Creative Strategist

  • The Ethics by Design workshop offered a fine balance of philosophical concepts and discussions, as well as a practical framework for application. It met my expectations exactly and was the perfect spring-board to designing ethics in my projects. Highly recommended.

    Ethics by design participant

  • An invaluable introduction to ethical thinking and how they can provide a framework to assess projects and designs. Thanks Alice!

    James Curtis, Co-founder Radical Engineers

  • Alice is a highly compelling facilitator, with a sharp mind and a commanding presence. She enabled all the workshop participants to understand the benefits of grounding their work in a human rights framework, and gave us practical tools to implement more ethical behaviours in our day to day work. I’d recommend Hattusia’s workshops to anyone that wants to improve impact and productivity

    Charlotte Webb, Feminist Internet

  • Hattusia's workshops are a really great short but helpful dip into the basic tenets of ethics in the digital age. Alice is informed and at the cutting edge of her field - yet she is also highly approachable and flexible in her teaching methods. It was a great investment of time for me and I'll continue to attend her courses.

Samad Masood, House of Genius, United Citizens

  • “Alice opened up meaningful conversations between developers, engineers, and the compliance team while giving hands-on advice on the pressing ethical questions of contemporary organisations. Over twenty committed participants followed the workshop with great interest and engaged in in-depth discussions in Berlin.”

    Katrin Frisch, Co-founder MOTIF institute

  • “A natural and engaging presenter and facilitator, Alice gets you to think – and think deeply – about ethics and their implication in what we are doing, whatever we are doing, particularly from technology and science-in-action point of view.”

Dr John Collins, Director, SynbiCITE, Imperial College London

  • Alice is a great facilitator and helped us make connections between broad ethical questions and the moments that these emerge in everyday practice. I came out of the workshop energised to apply what we had learned about in my everyday UX Design work at a startup. I would recommend them particularly for designers seeking practical ways to stimulate a proper conversation about ethics in their workplace.

    Ben Strak, UX Lead

  • I loved this workshop! A brilliant foundation in how to approach ethics in your design practice and organisation.

  •  As someone who works at the complex intersection of health and technology, I found Alice's workshop illuminating for my own practice - and would encourage public bodies to ensure they are accessing her expertise.
